Inspiration Damir Doma AW11

"I have been fascinated by this piece of art by Huroyuki Hamada for a few season now.
It is so pure and simple yet still so deep. Something like a new yin and yang. I always believe in balance in life."
"One of my very favourite fashion photographers is Deborah Turbeville. I love the wrapping around
the head in this picture. It symbolizes a certain fragility, yet still and still the womens in here photos
are so strong."
"This image comes from one of my favourite book ‘Ruinenbau’. I came across it a few years ago in a tiny
library here in Paris. Ever since i have carried these images with me, and always revisit them as inspiration for my collections. I particularly adore the monumental purity of the cube."
"This is all about the simple skirt and its proportions. My last collection was
very much about new proportions, as I placed my women on high platform shoes. I wanted them to
look like antique statues on a high stand, lifting them from the ground for a new elevation."
"This collection started with a few very pure monochrome looks. To contrast this, i wanted to
create a really strong opposition. For my taste this was such opulence. In this look you see a leopard print skirt with a metallic, hand-knitted leather pullover, with a chunky metal wristband."
"This is another very opulent look. I wanted the girls to look wild and raw. This is a strong combination
of mongolian fur with a long, slim leather dress."
